This approach takes a conscious effort in that we need to be mindful in what and how we eat. This approach teaches one to wait until they are physically hungry and experience a hunger pang and/or a growl. This approach also teaches one to eat only to the point where your body feels comfortable or satisfied, not to the point of feeling full.
Now there are several programs out on the internet and through programs and books that teach this philosophy. But there is one thing that I they teach that I do not agree with and that is that you can eat whatever your body enjoys and in time your body will desire what is good for it, this did not happen to me. I continued to eat foods filled with carbs and sugar and even though I had lost alot of weight it was affecting my health and I developed diabetes. This kind of teaching is wrong and if one is going to teach a program they should be very careful about telling people to eat any food your body enjoys as long as you eat between hunger and fullness.
I take this approach one step further, eat real food, foods that include a good portion of vegetables and fruits and eat farm grown meats or meat like chicken and fish. But be mindful of how often you are eating and what you are putting into your body. I believe that through this practice will feel better and will have few health problems in later years in life; even though it is not guaranteed you will have a healthier body.

WHAT IS FOOD ADDICTION
This is a question that people ask me all the time as I meet and greet them and they see that I have lost weight. The first question is alway how did you lose your weight. I tell them my story that I had a food addiction and a food addiction can come in different forms and I probably have had most of them over the years...not eating enough, bulimia or anorexia and overeating. It is a food addiction in that no matter what state we are in we are consumed with the issue of food. If a person is continually thinking about food or thinking of ways to purge the food or just do not eat they have serious issues with food.
But there is good news! This can be overcomed by a close relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. He can save you and He can enable you to overcome any addiction.
